Recycling, you hear that a lot in this country today. But it only matters if you do it. Think about it, how many people in the U.S. actually recycle? Sometimes recycling isn’t always on the brain, but we can’t forget. Thousand of our beautiful North American trees are cut down every day and recyclables lay in landfill. So, do you recycle? Because I believe that we forget about recycle too much and that it is a very important for the health of our forests and the rest of our wildlife.
I'm pretty sure that you were trying to grab the reader's attention, and it did! If you had written the rest of the essay, I surely would have read it because of the great hook. Even though it is on a kind-of-boring topic. (Recycling IS awesome!)
